The inaugural meeting of RILEM TC HFC was held on September 21, 2004 at Varenna, Italy, the venue of the BEFIB 2004 conference. 2004 Framcos-5 was held at Vail, Colorado. See http://www.ust.hk/framcos5/. Framcos-5 was chaired by Professor Victor Li of the University of Michigan. Over 180 participants from 25 countries attended. Fourteen papers on ECC were presented at this conference. 2004
Kajima Corporation successfully repaired the 60 year old Mitaka dam located in the Hiroshima prefecture. ECC was adopted as the 600 square meter protection cover material which was applied onto the damaged substrate by a spray technique. Prior to repair, there were concerns of cracks and spalling in the dam surface which may lead to water leakage.

DFRCC domestic workshop was held in Tokyo. Professor Rokugo and Dr. Fukuyama co-chaired this workshop. This conference marks the completion of the work of the JCI Committee on DFRCC. Led by Professor Rokugo of Gifu University, and in collaboration with Kajima Corporation and Nakanihon Company Ltd., an ASR damaged earth retaining wall located at Gifu was successfully repaired by PVA-ECC. For details, please see: Rokugo-wall.pdf.

JCI International Workshop on DFRCC (DFRCC-2002) was held on Oct. 21-22 at Gifu, Japan. Many papers to be presented are related to ECC. The invited keynote lecturers are V. Li, A. Naaman and H. Reinhardt.
